Lower Utility Rates Coming Soon!

At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting the council unanimously approved two resolutions that will lower electricity and water costs for all Boulder City residents and businesses. Resolution 7282 will lower electricity costs by 3%, and resolution 7283 will reduce the flat fee paid by all water customers by $10, making the new flat rate only $15.

City Council approved reductions to the City’s electric rate by 3-percent and water service fees by ten dollars. “These reductions come after a great deal of analysis over the past two years. They were recommended in the Raftelis Report, a consultant agency hired to perform an extensive rate review, with support of the Utility Advisory Committee,” said Boulder City Mayor Kiernan McManus. “I believe these reductions will especially benefit seniors living on fixed incomes within our community.”

Also on tap was the approval of the City Budget for 2022, which they’re feeling pretty darn happy about as it is a balanced budget! Which is pretty nice to see given the challenges that the pandemic brought. You can watch last night’s meeting on the city YouTube channel HERE.
