Dr Sharon Brown has opened her new veterinary practice, Animal Hospital The Pet Oasis. It’s located at 707 Canyon Road, Suite 103B, next to Professional Pet Room and Groom. Dr. Brown is new to our community, but she isn’t new to the area or the profession. She has previously practiced at Tropicana Animal Hospital and Cadence Animal Hospital in Las Vegas.
Her trip to Boulder City is an interesting one. She was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Jamaica. She came to the United States and attended the prestigious Tuskegee University in Alabama, where she graduated 2013. After graduation, she moved west and began her career in Las Vegas. She practiced at the two animal hospitals previously mentioned and began planning opening her own practice. She was open to all situations, whether it be building a practice from the ground up, or taking over an existing practice. She knew she wanted to continue practicing in Clark County so she began looking at options. Her client found out about The Grateful Pet through a Realtor and relayed the information to Dr Brown.
Meanwhile, Dr Flannery of the former The Grateful Pet, was looking to sell his practice so he could retire and return to his family back east. So you could say it was meant to be! Dr. Brown spent several days evaluating the practice and patients and decided that Boulder City was the place for her.
Dr Brown’s philosophy is to work in conjunction with pet parents to ensure a healthy and happy life. To that end, she offers a wide range of medical management options that she provides to pet owners up front so that they can make an informed decision about what course to take. She strives to keep prices reasonable, while maintaining high standards for patient care. Her connections in the Las Vegas valley make it easy for her to refer clients to other specialized practitioners, if needed.
Dr Brown maintains a connection to her native Jamaica. Both her son Kadon and daughter Shari still live there. Dr Brown recently welcomed her first grandchild, Sharissa, from her daughter. She’s also the loving owner of a beautiful orange cat. His name is Kingston. In her limited spare time, she enjoys journaling, meditation, exercise, dancing, cooking, and traveling.
The office welcomes walk-in patients, as well as scheduled ones. Her practice offers a senior discount and military discount for families that qualify. She will also be providing specials to clients throughout the year for various treatments and procedures as well. The office is open Monday thru Friday 7:00AM to 5:00PM and Saturday 7:00AM to 4:00PM, and they are closed on Sunday. You can reach The Pet Oasis at (702) 294-4899 and the fax is (702) 294-4896.
