The newest bakery in town is Bake N’Take Bakeshop, owned and operated by Lori Holtz! Open just in time for the holidays, she offers a selection of curated cookies, fudge, and sweet breads to delight. Lori opened her bakery on November 1 and there’s still time to get orders in for Thanksgiving dessert tables! The current menu consists of (current pricing below):
- Chocolate chip cookies
- Flourless peanut butter cookies
- Chai spiced shortbread cookies
- Chocolate fudge
- Zucchini bread
Lori grew up on a farm in North Dakota with 5 brothers and 2 sisters and baking has always been part of her life. Family celebrations and holidays were a way of life in her family and it became one of her favorite hobbies. She decided to open a cottage bakery earlier this year. Recipes for her business are tested at by her husband, Terry, and his colleagues at Lakeview Terrace. She also made cookies to hand out as Halloween gifts to trick-or-treaters this year (lucky kids!).
Lori has lived in a number of places, before settling here in Boulder City. She has degrees in both Business and Marketing. She previously worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Minnesota before retirement. She and Terry lived in Carson City and Henderson prior to moving here. One day, after visiting Spring Jamboree, they drove around town and fell in love with Boulder City! They moved here shortly after that fateful weekend.
Her other hobbies included reading, watching television series’ and streaming movies with her husband.
