As many of you will recall, the former Sudz Laundromat located at 1406 Boulder City Parkway was closed for a few weeks after undergoing a change of ownership. The good news is the new place – Boulder City Bubbles Laundromat – has reopened in its place and it’s better than ever!
Now operated by Terry Buis and Sam and Galit Gladstein, the space has an entirely different look and feel to it. Of course, the first thing you’ll notice is all new state-of-the-art commercial machines. The business partners decided that replacing the seventeen-year-old machines with newer models was much more cost effective and energy efficient for the business. But before putting in the new machines, they remodeled the entire facility, including replacing all windows and doors, repainting the entire interior, remodeling and refurbishing the bathroom, jet-cleaning the drain lines, repairing water lines, and installing new, brighter lighting and beautiful flooring. They even added more electrical outlets to plug your electronics into while you wait for your laundry to finish because they’ve also added WiFi! During our recent visit, some light music was playing throughout the building and the color palette of their new branding was calm and peaceful. The interior design is modern with a warm feel.
With the new machines come technological innovations. Soon you won’t have to schlep a bunch of quarters to the laundromat because the machines will take credit and debit cards (but don’t worry…they will still accept coins). All the washing machines are more efficient and use less water than the previous machines. The dryers use less energy too but still get the job done!
Terry Buis is a musician, SCUBA instructor, motorcycle enthusiast, and small business owner. He met Sam while working on some other business ventures together. Sam and Galit are husband/wife real estate professionals who have worked together in land development for several years. Together, the trio decided to look for another business venture they could work on together. The opportunity to purchase the only laundromat in town was too good to pass up. They took ownership of the business in July and immediately set to work on their renovations and upgrades.
The owners pride themselves on the cleanliness of the facility, something their customers have echoed as well. In addition to cleaning up throughout the day, professional cleaners come in regularly to make sure the place is spotless for the customers.
The self-service laundromat facility is open every day (365 days) from 6:00AM to 9:00PM, including all holidays, and has an onsite attendant currently Monday – Friday from 7:00AM to 3:00PM (hours to expand). The business also provides a per-pound wash and fold services for those who prefer to leave the laundry to someone else. You can drop off your laundry in the convenient drop off box outside the establishment, or visit between the hours of 7:00AM to 3:00PM, Monday thru Friday (hours to expand as the business does). They have recently expanded to offer dry cleaning for their customers during the same hours as the wash & fold. Pickup and delivery service is available for an extra charge through a 3rd party delivery service. Commercial clients are also welcomed.
When we met Sam and Galit recently, they spoke about their love for our town and how excited they were to become a part of the Boulder City business community. Terry loves the town so much that he recently moved to Boulder City to be closer to the business.
