UPDATED: Correct spelling of Dorothy Kine's name from UNLV photo information

This is a photograph of the Boulder City Drum and Bugle Corps and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce marching in the city's Memorial Day Parade. This photo was taken sometime in the 1930s or 1940s (maybe some of you can deduce from the vehicle parked at the curb). We see some well-known Boulder City residents from years past in this photo, many of whom still have descendants living here today! The photograph is part of the Tom and Erma Godbey Photograph Collection housed at UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas. University Libraries. Special Collections and Archives). The Boulder City Chamber of Commerce and the Drum & Bugle Corps march in the Memorial Day Parade. Mary Alice Hanson leads the group as the drum major. Pictured is Eleanor Ham and Dorothy Rine (baton twirlers) (NOTE: This should read Dorothy Kine, as in Dorothy Kine Rants), Dennis Whalen in the front row, Tom Godbey and Jim Godbey (snare drummers), & Laura Godbey and Ila Godbey (tenor drums). As we relax on this Memorial Day holiday, let's not forgot the reason for the holiday: to honor and remember all those who didn't make it home from military service. Many sacrificed their lives so that we could continue to live in peace and freedom here in the United States. For them, we are grateful.
