Okay, it’s been one month and a day since this happened here in Boulder City, Folks … it was on Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at 5:15am. But since the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. was in the middle of an ongoing investigation, I felt it would have been irresponsible to get in the middle of their efforts prematurely … hence, the delay.
They have now held a press conference though – as the incidents have continued to happen (the most recent was night before last – July 26th, 2015) – so it’s time to help get the word out!
Over the past three months, there have been at least six incidents where cars have been stolen and then intentionally rammed into police vehicles, including one right here in Boulder City.
The photo to the left is of the Boulder City incident … the blue car was stolen and rammed into the white unmarked Metro SUV a few blocks away (I’ve cropped in close to protect the privacy of the victims).
I have a couple videos for you to watch for more details … one is from last night’s Channel 13 Action News broadcast and features a clip from the press conference. Near the end of the video, they mention a “close call” where a 3-year old girl was sleeping in the front bedroom that would have been hit by the cars if it hadn’t been for the tree … that was, in fact, the Boulder City incident, I fear. So very thankful that she was not injured or killed.
The second video (below the first) is a longer video compilation of the suspects and their cars from Metro’s YouTube channel. It’s pretty hard to see who the slender, white male suspect is – but hopefully, someone could recognize him generally and the two cars to be able to provide Metro with a lead? Fingers crossed!
