Cooler weather has us all thinking about getting out more and enjoying various recreational opportunities. Cooler weather also means that some projects local governments have planned will take place now that temperatures are more accommodating. The National Park Service has announced a partial closure of the River Mountains Loop Trail so that cracks can be repaired along the trail. This project will take place from September 27 to October 15. The closure will take place from Mile Post 11 to Mile Post 14, which also includes the trailhead spur to the parking lot near Lake Mead Parkway Entrance Station.
While the repairs are being made, trail visitors can instead use Lakeshore Road for this section. Cyclists must bike in single file on roadways.
