Back at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 13th we told you HERE how both the City Attorney, Steve Morris and City Manager Al Noyola were terminated and released from their contracts.
Yesterday afternoon was the planned Special Council meeting and the two Acting positions were both filled.
First, please welcome the new Acting City Attorney, Brittany Walker who comes to us from the greater Las Vegas area, who with three years of legal experience, comes from her most recent job with Holland & Hart, LLP where she is an Associate working on the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources practice group. She was also a Law Clerk at the Nevada Court of Appeals and the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC).
Next, the gentleman many of you already know and recognize as Michael Mays, the Community Development Director for Boulder City, will now also step in as our Acting City Manager! He’ll have a lot on his plate mind you since he’ll still be doing both jobs, but we trust he is up to the task and has been with the City of Boulder City since 2017.
We don’t know how long they will each function in these various roles. After some debate and discussion also at the meeting yesterday, the Council decided to hire an executive search firm to do a nationwide search for the replacements of these two important jobs here in town.
We wish everyone the best of luck in their new roles at City Hall, and also that the coming search for full-time replacements goes well!
