Now, you have to admit that this deserves a chuckle…
After spending the past few days answering emails assuring Fans that I was not the least bit distressed at the Boulder City Review’s description of this site as “mostly into posting new business openings and garage sales”…my post today is about a new business that has just opened! Come on…that’s funny!
Fan Tracy Salerno Arcand‘s posted on the Facebook page that a new thrift store called Korner of Goods had just opened, so I popped over there today and grabbed a few photos for ya.
Truthfully, it’s not very close to what I imagine when I think of a “thrift store” — you can see from the slideshow below that they’ve got a bunch of cute stuff in there – from furnishings to gifts — albeit all previously owned (but in great shape)!
And here’s the BEST part. 5% of their sales is donated to Lend A Hand right here in Boulder City, so that’s pretty fabulous. And if you bring a donation in – they’ll clean it up, sell it and give 100% of the proceeds to Lend A Hand! So this is a fantastic place to donate cool stuff and help out a valued community non-profit.
Korner of Goods will deliver free in Boulder City (if you buy furniture or large pieces, for example) and every Wednesday is “Senior Day” with 25% off everything in the store. It’s owned by Jaime and Marie (sisters-in-law) and has been open for just over a week.
They’re located a few doors down from AmeriSent Insurance in Red Mountain Plaza (which is a few more doors down from Roberto’s Taco Shop). 1633 Nevada Highway is their address, (702) 293-3188 are their digits and they are open every day from 9am – 6pm, except Tuesday (when they are closed).
Gotta go…it’s time to remove this past weekend’s yard sales! LOL!
