New Boulder City Spay and Neuter Ordinance

Well, soon we might have some seriously sad puppies out there!

Tuesday night the City Council of Boulder City passed an ordinance saying that all dogs, cats, pet rabbits, ferrets and pot bellied pigs(?!?) over 5 months of age must be spayed or neutered, with a few exceptions such as for licensed breeders.

The Bill No. 1813 that is being adopted is the same as what is already required by law in the rest of the state of Nevada. Boulder City has actually been an outlier on this issue, and we’re apparently the last city in the state(!) to put this law into effect. So I guess we’ve sort of had some lucky dogs around town!

If you wish to see the specifics, you can download and read all the details on the City Council’s Agenda Packet, starting on page 260, here.
