Another brand-spanking new business has opened their doors this weekend and it’s Blazing Blades Salon! Meet Owner (left, above) Lana Allen and Manager, (right) Alex Romero.
Located at 1312 Boulder City Pkwy, Suite A, they’ve taken over the old Verizon store location, next to Vinnie’s Pizza! They offer cuts, color and waxing in their beautiful new salon that has plenty of room and lots of style. Don’t forget to say hello to official Mascot, their dog Sushi Roll (who she has owned for three years, and is not a copy of the Kardashian’s, thank you very much!).
When we talked to Lana, she says that she owns three salons up in Corvallis, Oregon where they are from. She retired and moved into the area to be near her daughter, and…quickly got bored! They originally rented in Las Vegas, but they came out to Boulder City, and simply fell in love with it. Currently they are house hunting, and now she says that her son is also moving into the area, because the entire family just loves living here!
Along they way, Lana tells us they met Carol Gordon, who owns this building and she says they think of like family. The space was available and she thought – why not! Let’s go for a salon location here in our new small town that we love! Lana says she still travels back to their old home once a month to see clients and check on her businesses up there, but that no matter what time of year it is, she can’t wait to get back to Boulder.
For this first year they are going to focus on really reasonable cut and color prices. Right now for their opening, cuts start at $9.99 and for a limited time you can get a brow wax for only $5!
They are hiring, so if you know of those with the skills you might spread the word. Hours are Monday-Friday from 10-6, and they are also open today until 4pm! They plan to open on Saturdays regularly from 10-4, once they are staffed up. Call for an appointment, although it’s not needed as walk-ins are welcome: 702-331-1556.
