This week we stopped by to see the new store that opened downtown, Country of Origin Label – or COOL!
We met with owner Sonia Mongili at her store. She features clothing for both women and men, as well as shoes, accessories and fine leather goods.
Those of us females who might be known for a slight love (well, OK…fetish…obsession, whatever…) for fine shoes and handbags…ladies we’ve got a COOL new source in town!
Sonia is originally from Florence, Italy, and has a long-time background in the import/export business. All of the clothing she features in her store is manufactured either in the USA or Europe.
But beyond giving us gorgeous clothes to put on our backs, Sonia is on a mission to promote designers and companies that value human rights in their manufacturing. She knows this sometimes means the clothing and other items she carries can be more expensive than products produced elsewhere. But she believes in promoting an overall ‘quality of life’, and this we have to say, seems totally apparent in her selections as well!
When we asked her why she decided to settle in Boulder City, we got a great answer…
She pointed across the street to our own favorite brew-master at the Boulder Dam Brewing Company, and said, “That’s why – I love beer!” (Thanks guys!)
Her store is located in the front of the building at 508 Nevada Way, #4 and her hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10-4pm, at least for the time being.
