As of this Tuesday, November 3rd, our local Albertsons is now featuring touch-free grocery delivery service. You place your order online, and then pick a day and time in the future at least 3 hours ahead of pickup. Then head to the store at your designated time, park your car and call them, and they will bring your groceries to you!
This service has been available at stores over the hill, but this is the first time it’s being offered in Boulder City. To sign up, you can go to their web site HERE. You’ll need to create an account and sign in to shop. Then you shop much in the same way as you do with any other online experience. There is also an App you can get on your phone.
You’re also able to browse their weekly ad and can take advantage of coupons to save some bucks (and who doesn’t want to do THAT we ask?!?)
When your order is ready, you head to the store, park in one of the six numbered parking spots and give them a call. Then pop your trunk or back seat, and you don’t have to do a thing! They bring your groceries to you.
We spoke to the Department Manager in charge of training the team on this new feature at Albertons, Pete Iovino about this service. He says to please shop with confidence. They are going to be focused on making sure you get good quality produce and meet products. You can make requests and note preferences too when you order. Want green bananas, be sure to tell them and they’ll do their best for you.
If something is out of stock or not available in the size you wanted, they’ll contact you with options. Pete emphasizes, they won’t give you anything they wouldn’t pick out for their own home.
Already, there are at least a dozen Boulder City shoppers who have been using this feature at the Albertsons on Stephanie in Henderson. So our local store is hopeful people will take advantage of this.
We think the timing is perfect, given that it’s now our regular flu season and COVID-19 cases are on the rise in our area. We want to keep our elderly and at-risk populations safe, and this is a great way to help do that. Plus, it looks like a great time saver to me!
Give it a try and we’ll hope this program is successful so that those who wish to use this service locally will be able to do so. Good luck to the team at Albertsons and thanks for all your hard work as essential workers in 2020!
