New Lake Mead Personal Watercraft Rules

Well, they aren’t exactly “new” rules – but on January 1st, they will be “newly enforced” rules.

It seems a ban was imposed about a decade ago on personal watercraft that did not meet the EPA’s emission standards (of 2006) because they apparently release up to 30% of their fuel into the water. But to give everyone enough time to upgrade their watercraft, the park service gave everyone until January 1st, 2013 before they’re enforcing it.

All of this interesting information came to me through an interesting article in the Las Vegas Review Journal this morning — so if you’d like to read more about it, you can do that by clicking here!
