We thought you’d like to know about a new non-profit that’s started up here in town, the Friends of the Library Association.
Apparently lots of other communities have them and Kim Diehm, the Director of the Boulder City Library, felt that getting such an organization together was important for the Boulder City Library. So…they got started a few months ago and have no completed all the official 501c paperwork and such.
Their purpose is to sort of “fill in the gaps” on the funding of certain projects, as well as to act as liaisons between the community and the library.
Krys Stave, the organization’s President says, “We want to make sure the community knows about all the great stuff the library provides so they can make use of it, and to help communicate any community needs to the library.”
Next week they have their second fundraiser in town – guess what! A book sale, none-the-less!
Donations are still gladly being accepted and they suggest you please call their main number 702-293-1281, or you can visit their web site before coming by with your donations.
The Book Sale runs November 2-5 and you’ll find books for all ages as well as DVD’s and audio books too. For times, see the flyer HERE.
