We’d like to introduce you to Rachel Pancheri and Dan Combs, the new owners of an old favorite – Boulder Bowl! This couple recently purchased one of Boulder City’s oldest recreation options, located at 504 California Avenue. Not only did they “buy themselves a second job” as they said, they also purchased the building, so the alley will remain in this convenient spot for years to come. The bowling alley originally opened in 1947, which means they’ll be celebrating their 75th anniversary in 2022!!
Rachel and Dan told us the business has continued with many of the traditions locals have come to love, including the established bowling leagues, private parties and high school team still using the lanes on a regular basis. They don’t plan to change much fundamentally, although some upgrades are planned, but instead plan to keep the positive atmosphere Boulder Bowl is known for! This Navy veteran owned and operated business plans to continue to be a part of the local business community by introducing some new incentives designed to encourage patrons to enjoy some of the other local businesses here so stay tuned for those programs to launch in the future.
Their website states, “Our main focus is providing a place to entertain, have fun solo or in groups, and sneak in a little physical activity. Leave your troubles at the door, put the screens away, and have a good time with us. We welcome everyone who wants to have a good time.” From the looks of things, that’s exactly what they deliver: a good time at a reasonable price in a convenient location. The vintage feel to the place reminds us all of simpler, happier times that can now be recreated in a safe location where Rachel and Dan tell us, “It’s all about fun!” Many of us have very positive memories of times spent here with family and friends.
Boulder Bowl is a well-loved institution here in our community. It is home to the Boulder City High School bowling team (one of the few Clark County School District schools to have their own “home” lanes), multiple leagues for various groups, open bowling every day (schedules vary by day – check website calendar or call ahead to confirm), the concession bar, plenty of free parking, as well as a convenient location for residents and visitors alike.
Parties are reasonably priced and offer 2 lanes for 2 hours for 10 bowlers, up to renting the entire place and having a catered affair with up to 50 people. These are really wonderful options for groups in these current times. You can find out more information by visiting their website HERE.
You can stay in touch with Boulder Bowl via their website or on Facebook HERE. They also maintain an Instagram page HERE. The telephone number for Boulder Bowl is (702) 293-2368. Make sure to stop by soon and say hello to Rachel and Dan and welcome them to the Boulder City business community.
