We had the recent opportunity to sit down with the new owner of Sudz Laundromat, Michael Williams. As many of you know, this longtime Boulder City business is located at 1406 Boulder City Pkwy. Mr. Williams, a US Air Force and US Army veteran and grandfather of ten, had been seeking an opportunity to use his extensive business background to make the switch as seamless as possible and use his acumen to bring continued success. The chance to purchase this business was too exciting to pass up!
Mr. Williams brings with him decades of entrepreneurship including experience in financial services, restaurant management, an automobile dealership and even a Christmas tree farm business on his professional resume. Mr. Williams spoke at length about the many streams of business this opportunity afforded him, including creating relationships with other businesses like Boulder Creek Golf Course, one of the company’s clients. The possibilities for generating business for the commercial portion of his business is a big priority for him as he steps into his new role in the community.
In addition to the familiar self-service coin-operated washers and dryers, Sudz Laundromat also offers “fluff and fold” service which – in most cases – can be turned around in less than 24 hours. The location of Boulder City was an attractive feature to Mr. Williams. The facility is the only laundromat in Boulder City, close to recreational areas like Bootleg Canyon and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, as well as a popular stop for travelers on their way to and from Arizona.
“People like our facility because it’s clean, friendly and safe,” Mr. Williams remarked, noting that customers come to Boulder City from Henderson and Las Vegas for precisely those reasons. It’s not unusual for truckers passing through to drop off their laundry at his store and have it laundered, packaged and returned to them at their hotel via the store’s delivery service. Yes, pickup and delivery are available for your laundry needs!
Mr. Williams spoke at length about ongoing and future expansion. To this end, they have joined with Village East Dry Cleaners of Las Vegas to offer dry cleaning services, to compliment the other facets of his business. One of his goals is to provide a “one stop shop” for residents and customers looking for laundry-related services. Maintaining the small town relationships is crucial to ongoing success, he stated.
Customers are invited to stop in any day from 6:00AM to 9:00PM to use the laundromat. The laundry portion of the business is open daily from 8:00AM to 6:00PM. Customers may also drop off laundry for fluff and fold services after hours by using the large drop box in front of the business.
