New Senior Center Pet Food Pantry

Senior Center Pet Food Pantry Boulder City, NV

You could call this campaign “no bowl left empty” here in Boulder City, and we just couldn’t wait to share this good news! Starting this week, eligible seniors will be able to pick up pet food from the pantry at the Senior Center.

Our elder residents sometimes live on tight, fixed incomes, and occasionally have to sacrifice certain necessities to make sure their beloved pets get what they need. Pets are hugely important to all of us, and most especially so to seniors who live alone or aren’t as mobile as they used to be.

The Senior Center of Boulder City has teamed up with the Boulder City Animal Control and created a pet food pantry with food and some other supplies! The pantry actually started informally a few years ago, when Holly Webb started collecting items that seniors could pick up. “Our seniors are often too proud to ask for help, so this relieves some of that burden,” said Victoria Mason, Senior Center of Boulder City Executive Director. “In addition to pet supplies at the pantry, we can also send items to our homebound Meals on Wheels participants.”

“We have a great, generous community here who show their appreciation for our efforts regularly through donations of food and supplies,” said Ann Inabnitt, Animal Control Supervisor. “Boulder City Animal Control is thrilled to be able to help our seniors and their dogs and cats – it is our way to repay the community members who have been incredibly supportive of our mission here.”

Pantry hours are Monday, Thursday & Friday between 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Seniors in need of pet supplies should contact the Senior Center of Boulder City for more information at 702.293.3320.
