NO NO NO Dogs In Cars!!!

Dog In Car in Boulder City, NV

It’s soapbox time!!! I’m just ALL bent out of shape because someone left their dog unattended in their car today up at Albertsons.

This is a stock photo – so it wasn’t this dog…it was a yellow lab in the back of a “Jeep-type” car – so no roof and the poor dog was just burning up in the sun. And no water, just to make it worse.

NRS 574.195 says: “A person shall not allow a cat or dog to remain unattended in a parked or standing motor vehicle during a period of extreme heat or cold or in any other manner that endangers the health or safety of the cat or dog.” and “A person who violates a provision of [the above] is guilty of a misdemeanor.”

From a post I did last year about the My Dog Is Cool Website, you can download flyers here to put on someone’s windshield if you see an animal in a car.

But personally, I’m calling the police department to dispatch an officer, a fireman or animal control because they’re allowed to smash the window in and take the pet away from you.

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DOG AT HOME!

[Today’s rant has now concluded.]
