NV Supreme Court Rules for SLAPP Defendants

City Hall in Boulder City, NevadaThe justices of the Nevada Supreme Court have unanimously ruled that six Boulder City citizens should not have been sued for circulating initiative petitions in 2010…a decision that might cost the city an estimated $100,000 in attorney’s fees.

The three cases stemmed from petitions intending to cap city debt; limit the terms of citizen-committee appointees; limit the city to owning just one municipal golf course; and make the city attorney job an elected position…you can read the whole story by clicking here.
