Everyone has been waiting anxiously to hear what will become of our beloved downtown restaurant located within the Boulder Dam Hotel. We want to heartily congratulate Caleb Gray and Kasey Beall and their incredible updates to this iconic location as it reopens as the Restaurant 1933! You just might recognize these two from their other main business in town, at Boulder City RV, which opened back in 2018.
So, why take on another project and open the restaurant, you might ask? When we asked Caleb, the answer was simple – we love Boulder City! Take a listen here to what they have planned:
Restaurant 1933 aka “The Restaurant at the Hotel” will be Boulder City’s preeminent dining establishment for American fair. Our goal is to provide an elevated level of service to our patrons, in addition to some incredible food selections. Captain’d by a local Chef with over 25 years of culinary experience including stints at Walt Disney World, and leadership in one of Wolfgang Puck’s Steakhouses.
The Restaurant at the hotel will pay homage to the Hotels historical roots starting when it opened in 1933, with period appropriate décor along with pictures and menus from the Hotel’s past. We will be open 7 days a week for both Breakfast and Lunch from 7am to 2pm serving a world class Coffee Cake as one of our signature items. We will then re-open from 4:30-10:00pm on Thursday-Saturday as an Elevated Steakhouse, offering a full menu of Steak, Seafood, and family style side dishes.
We will also be offering a separate Menu for the hotel guests delivered to their rooms in decorative picnic baskets to keep with the theme. In the main lobby, we will have an option for “grab and go” items that allow for a meal on the run to both guests and museum visitors…
In the above photos you’ll see a few things. One, is the gorgeous makeover they have given the place. All new hardwood floors graces this classic new decor. Banquets improve the seating arrangements that allow for more flexibility and add a sophisticated touch. This, along with the new draperies and the lush deep green velvet give it the classic charm it deserves. When we talked to Kasey about the choices she made along the way, she tells us that she looked at as many original photos as she could find to borrow from and match the finishings around what it looked like when the hotel originally opened.
In the back, you’ll also notice “new” tile which is actually a reveal of what had been underneath the brick below. Updated lighting and color choices finish off the look.
The second thing we want to call out above is that luscious coffee cake. I’m just sayin’ – you gotta have some of that! They tell me their super-secret recipe treat will be available all day, every day.
The planned Grand Opening is April 18th. However, keep your eyes out during the day-times in the week leading up to that because Caleb says they’ll open up for a few ‘soft opening’ days to test out their systems and make sure things are running smoothly. We’ll keep you posted and we’re so excited for these folks, and know you’ll give them a warm Boulder City Welcome!
We heard they are taking reservations for dinner seatings starting on the 25th, and you can reach them by phone at 702-561-7365 or by email at: restaurant1933@gmail.com. Follow them on Facebook HERE.
