Hey…guess what gets blistering hot? Black paint on metal! And hotter than anticipated, from what I’m hearing from our City Peeps…so they’ve already started to address the issue of the paint that is peeling from the Welcome Archway.
The paint just didn’t hold up as it should have, so the plan is to sandblast all of the exposed metal clean of paint and then let it rust until it gets to a color they like. THEN it will be sealed to prevent future rusting.
The decision to go with this new “rusted look” is because it’s in line with what the public majority wanted in the beginning…so all’s well that ends well, I say!
