The Reverend Kimber Govett of United Methodist Church here in Boulder City is offering pet blessings today from 9:00AM to 12:00PM in Wilbur Square Park (on Colorado Street, across from City Hall). Please bring your pets on leashes or in secured pet carriers for their blessing.
The annual pet blessing traditionally takes place in October and remembers St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals in remembrance of his love for all creatures. St. Francis ministered to animals during his lifetime and his love and caring are still remembered in many churches today.
The United Methodist Church pastored by Reverend Govett is located at 700 Wyoming Street.
