There’s a growing movement in support of the (controlled) legalization of Off-Highway Vehicles/All-Terrain Vehicles (OHV/ATV) in order to add this type of desert adventuring to Boulder City’s destination tourism offerings.
Neighboring states are capitalizing on the billion dollar ATV-enthusiast industry by creating trail systems in the outlying areas of large cities to small town – from the Paiute ATV Trail System in Utah to the Great Western Trail in Arizona – and a number of our local businesses (and enthusiasts) are in favor of Boulder City doing the same (as well as allowing golf carts).
An online petition was created a few days ago with the description below. If you are interested in expressing your support for the development of an ordinance … you can sign it by CLICKING HERE…
To maintain and grow Boulder City’s economy and tourism by creating an attractive and entertaining destination for all off-road (individuals and families) who would love what our beautiful desert landscape has to offer.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to allow residents and visitors access to our city’s businesses via specific access points to our roadways to and from the desert area directly south of town, also allowing golf cart owners the ability to utilize their carts on these same approved roads as a mode of transportation to those same businesses.
