Friends of Boulder City Police Department has awarded this quarter’s Unsung Hero Award to none other than Phil Esser!
Before we read why Mr. Esser was chosen as this quarter’s award recipient, let’s talk about the nominations for next quarter.
If you know of a member of the Boulder City community who goes above and beyond the call of duty to make this an amazing place to live, play and work — FOBCPD would like to hear from you.

The Detroit News recognized our newest Unsung Hero in 1985 as the prestigious “Michiganian of the Year”; and today, 27 years later, we recognize Phil Marcus Esser as our Unsung Hero.
Mr. Esser, along with an extensive list of talented individuals, have set up sound systems, stages, rehearsed hundreds of hours and performed and produced dozens of musical productions – each benefiting a local Boulder City nonprofit. Arguably, the audience is the benefactor, having the opportunity to view his musicals; however, the American Legion, Senior Center, Boulder Dam Hotel, Boulder City Museum and Historical Association, Lend A Hand, and Emergency Aid are just a partial list of the financial benefactors.
While all of this time is donated, it is Mr. Esser’s leadership, creativity, and drive that keep these performances coming. His next production involves over 40 cast members and will be featured October 26th and 27th, 2012. Tickets go on sale at Plaza Realty in early September.
Thank you, Mr. Esser and your entire cast for making Boulder City a better place to live, work and visit!
