Photos from Wednesday’s Rain Storm

Here are some photos that Fans sent in of flooding around town during Wednesday’s crazy rain storm. I grabbed a couple of photos of some mudslide issues at the berms at Veteran’s Memorial Park…you can see the blue/green pipes that are supposed to be…well, UNDER that ground!

I also heard that a youth was playing in the channel on Georgia and was swept away by the current. Thankfully, several people were nearby (including some Public Works employees) and able to save him.

UPDATE: Someone captured video of the rescue from the Georgia Channel and it was on the Channel 13 News, courtesy of the Boulder City Fire Department. Click the photo below to watch the news story on their website!

Water Rescue in Boulder City, NV

On a very sad and related note, the body of the boy that fell into the Pittman Wash in Henderson during Wednesday’s rainstorm was recovered and identified today…here is the link to that article. It’s a terribly unfortunate reminder to make sure everyone stays away from the channels during these rainstorms and our most heartfelt condolences go out to his family. 🙁
