Professor George Rhee to Discuss Colorado River and Colorado River Basin Climate

Come listen to UNLV Professor George Rhee, as he presents an Introduction to the Colorado River and the Climate of the Colorado Basin. This presentation will take place on Thursday, September 24 starting at 6:00PM. The discussion is expected to last approximately one hour. It will take place in the Community Room of the Boulder City Library, located at 701 Adams Boulevard in ABC Park.
Professor Rhee is one of the founders of the Boulder City Climate Action Committee, a group of interested citizens who discuss various topics related to the locate climate and how it affects our communities both here in Boulder City and around the world. He has been studying the Colorado Basin and Colorado River for over ten years now, speaking at professional events and lending his knowledge to many over the years. He was also a Grand Canyon River Guide for almost three decades, so he has observed the river and Lake Mead closely in that time.
The presentation will center on the impacts of the snow pack that feeds the river, and downriver dams and is designed to engage and encourage the layperson to understand these very important topics and how they relate to Southern Nevada, especially Boulder City,
“Critical decisions should be preceded and informed by public discussion,” noted Professor Rhee and this event is one way to reach out to the public to help empower them with factual information about the critical water situation. Science must be part of the solution as we look for ways to ensure adequate resources for generations to come.
Come join Professor Rhee and concerned citizens on September 24 at 6:00PM at the Boulder City Library. There is no cost for the lecture.
