Unless you’ve been living under a rock these days, you’re aware of all the progress being made on the outside of the new Fox Smokehouse BBQ location (formerly Casa Flores) at 930 Nevada Way. But just yesterday, we met up with Co-Owner Kelly Fox (hubby Dan Fox couldn’t make it) and got a tour inside of the building!
As you can see, it’s still a wide-open construction zone, but they are making some serious progress, and work is happening almost daily. But you can see the ‘bones’ of the place now, and imagine what it’s going to look like when completed.
And, if you didn’t notice, you may have seen either Grant or Larry Turner coming and going from the building. That’s because the Fox’s hired this dynamic duo to design the new restaurant for them! (The Turner family owns The Dillinger, Forge Social House, and The Tap.) Kelly tells us in hiring them, they have not only their skills as General Contractors, but it’s like hiring a designer, electrician and interior decorating team, all in one.
So, we’ve walked you through the key parts of the restaurant, on the slides above. You’ll see there are two entrances, the main dining, and then the bar entrance on the corner. Kelly tells us that the bar will be absolutely stunning, and it’s one of her favorite parts of the new design.
The new place is huge, at about 5,000 sq. feet with a seating capacity of 110. By comparison, they currently seat about 62 in their existing location. But the guts of this operation are also big upgrades. They are truly raising the level of their game with big new walk-in coolers for both beverage and food, new server stations to help the place run effectively, and did you check out the size of that kitchen cook area? Kelly also tells us that their staff will need to expand from their current 21 employees, adding about 10 more when the time comes.
Estimated opening will be April, with a ‘soft’ opening first to help them work out the kinks on this new operation, before a large announcement is made. All we can say is ‘wow, Wow WOW!’, and we just cannot WAIT to see this new place up and running! Best of luck to them all, and may the rest of this process go smoothly!
