Purple Heart Ceremony at Veterans Memorial

Today, August 7th, is Purple Heart Day and I found a video from Channel 13 Action News’ website about a ceremony that took place at Veterans Memorial Cemetery over the weekend (below for ya).

The Purple Heart is “awarded in the name of the President of the United States to any member of the Armed Services of the U.S., who, while serving, has been wounded, killed, or has died after being wounded” and Purple Heart Day remembers recipients of the medal who have since passed away.
