Rail Bikes Join the Adventure at Nevada State Railroad Museum
You may have noticed that Rail Bikes are back at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City. If you've never taken a rail bike tour, you don't know what you're missing! The experience allows riders to enjoy local history as well as check out the flora and fauna that populates the Boulder City area.
Currently, the museum offers Monday, Thursday, and Friday at 1:00PM, 3;00PM, and 6:00PM. Saturday and Sunday tours are at 3:00PM, 6:00PM and 8:00PM. Note that these are the spring 2026 hours and are subject to change to accommodate the weather. Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before departure. Guests are encouraged to make reservations HERE as spots fill up quickly.
On the tour, you will travel the historic Boulder branch line for about 90 minutes. The adventure, which is approximately 8 miles round trip, is powered by you, using special pedal bikes designed for the railroad tracks. The cost is just $90 for a 4 person bike with an electric motor assist. Each bike can travel up to 20MPH (but a leisurely pace is nice!) so it's a great way to see the trail up close and all that it provides.
You will pedal from the station to a point just behind Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino to stop for a rest, before returning to the station. Along the way, you may see some of Boulder City's wildest residents, including the famous Bighorn Sheep. Guides are available to answer questions and provide information about the branch line, wild animals, and local history.
This is a great adventure to take with family members from out of town, but it's also a lot of fun for locals as well. Enjoy the unseasonably warm temps and make your reservation today! The Nevada State Railroad Museum is located at 601 Yucca Street here in Boulder City. They are open 9:00AM to 3:30PM, seven days a week, excluding holidays.
