Two pieces of information for ya today about changes headed our way … recycling pickup dates will change starting January 2nd, 2017 and the City Council will vote next week whether to adopt the rate increases requested by BC Waste Free.
- First — New Pickup Schedule: it’s now been posted on BC Waste Free’s website, so you can check it out by CLICKING HERE and if necessary, clicking on the image to open a nice, big version of it.
- Second — Rate Increases: [See 12/13 update below] A public workshop was held on November 14th and based on information in the council packet, 13 residents attended at various times. The meeting’s outcome was to retain BC Waste Free’s requested 5% increase for residential customers and an 8% increase for commercial customers. The residential 5% increase amounts to a 63 cent increase per month and the commercial 8% increase varies based on container size and number of pickups — see below for the grid.
12/13/16 Update: The Boulder City Council ultimately voted for a 6% increase across the board instead of the proposed 5% residential & 8% commercial.
The agenda packet has a staff report that reviews discussion items from the meeting and also has more information and schedules about the rates, so if you’d like to dive deeper into this, you can do that by going to page 260 of the council agenda packet after you CLICK HERE…
