Boulder City may have a new recycling program that kicked off this year and with great success, but they are NOT offering Christmas Tree recycling yet – so you won’t want to put your tree out with your other recyclables.
There is a free tree recycling program offered starting today (Dec. 26th) and running through January 15th by the Conservation District of Southern Nevada. They just ask that you remove all non-organic objects such as lights, wire, tinsel, ornaments and nails as they contaminate the mulch and damage the chipper. Also, flocked trees cannot be recycled.
The three drop-off locations that are closet to Boulder City are all in Henderson:
- Mission Hills Park – 551 Mission Drive
- Morrell Park – 500 Harris Street
- Whitney Ranch Recreation Center – 1575 Galleria Drive
There will also be a Christmas Tree Recycling Event on Saturday, January 7th at the Galleria Sunset Mall between 10am and 2pm.
Lastly, you can pay $30 to have 1-800-GOT-JUNK pick up a tree from your home (includes removal of tree and clean-up of pine needles). They will then drop it off at one of the recycling locations for you. You can visit them on the web by clicking here OR guess what number you need to call if you want to have this done? Yep…1-800-GOT-JUNK, of all things! Or heck,
