Relay for Life returns this coming weekend – Saturday, May 9th, 2015 — but there are a few sizable changes for this year’s event.
First and probably most significant … it’s no longer an overnight event — it will take place on Saturday from 12:00 Noon to 12:00 Midnight.
Second … it’s no longer at the Boulder City High School track — it’s moved to Veterans’ Memorial Park (1650 Buchanan Blvd).
And third … there is no fee for the participants anymore – the American Cancer Society decided to do away with the registration fee in hopes that more people would come out and participate. Not that $10 was a huge barrier to entry, but now it’s totally free.
The American Cancer Society’s website shows that Boulder City currently has 16 teams with a total of 99 participants having raised $13,109 so far. It’s neck and neck for the top team position between Too Inspired To Be Tired and Boulder City United Methodist Church … with Too Inspired going for the win!
