I’ll admit I find this surprising! Even with the bright spotlight that has recently been put on issues that will have tremendous impacts on the future of Boulder City, early voter turnout so far is almost 25% less than the last Primary Election in Boulder City (which was the 2011 race).
We’re told that early voter turnout numbers in 2011 were 2,677. Adding that to 1,402 on election day and 438 ballot mailed in — a total of 4,517 residents voted in 2011.
Three full days into our voting, we’re less than 1/3 of the way to that number this year, so remember that today is the last day to vote early at City Hall (until 6pm tonight) and Election Day (for the primary) is on April 4th (at the Recreation Center or Martha P. King Elementary School … whichever Vote Center is more convenient for you)!
UPDATE as of 3/26/17: FYI: Clark County has reported that only 272 voters turned out for the final day of early voting, bringing the total number to 1,766 (almost 1,000 less than in 2011).
