Rock, Roll, and Stroll Returns

The Rock, Roll, and Stroll Fundraiser for the Meals on Wheels Program is on for Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00AM to 2:00PM. It will take place at Bicentennial Park, located at 999 Colorado Street (next to City Hall and the Parks and Recreation Department). The event is being hosted by the Boulder City Senior Center, located at 813 Arizona Street, Boulder City.

Meals on Wheels “has been guided by a single goal since the first known US delivery by a small group of Philadelphia citizens in 1954 – to support our senior neighbors to extend their independence and health as they age. What started as a compassionate idea has grown into one of the largest and most effective social movements in America, currently helping nearly 2.2 million seniors annually in virtually every community in the country.”

Nationally, about 10 million seniors struggle with hunger or food insecurity. Not only does it create an unparalleled anxiety, it also affects every aspect of senior health. Seniors are already at risk for malnutrition due to decreased appetite, mobility issues, prescription medications, and more. Over 251 million meals were delivered to 2.2 million seniors nationwide last year alone. This is why the program is so important to our community. In addition to the meals, Meals on Wheels offers other benefits as well.

Additional benefits of Meals on Wheels:

  1. Helps seniors to eat healthier
  2. Improves their overall health
  3. Homebound seniors feel more secure
  4. Allows seniors to live in their own homes independently

There will be games, food. fun, and music for attendees. In order to sign up for this important event that supports so many members of our community, please telephone the Senior Center at (702) 293-3320 or via email by clicking either HERE or HERE. Check out the group’s website (HERE) for their weekly activities and grab a membership form while you’re there,

We look forward to seeing everyone out there doing their thing to support Meals on Wheels.
