The Cities of Boulder City and Henderson are joining up for the second annual Community Day of Service with more than a dozen community service projects. The event is being held to honor first responders and all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. The projects take place on Saturday, September 6. Join fellow volunteers at Cornerstone Park in Henderson (1600 Wigwam Parkway) at 8:00AM for a free breakfast and project kickoff, then head off to one of the fourteen projects listed below:
Boulder City Projects
- Facility cleanup and beautification at St Jude’s Ranch for Children, 100 St Jude’s Street
- Trail cleanup along Utah Street headed towards landfill, Utah Street and Bronco Road
- Emergency Aid of Boulder City Donation Drive, Utah Street and Bronco Road
Henderson Projects
- Donate blood at LDS Church, 400 South Water Street
- Prepare plastic bags for “plarn” for homeless sleeping mats at LDS Church, 400 South Water Street
- Ronald McDonald House Card Marking at Pinecrest Academy (Español tambien), 1360 South Boulder Highway
- Book cleaning and donations at Pinecrest Academy, 1350 South Boulder Highway
- Care package assembly at LDS Church, 2497 Cozy Hill Circle, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation
- Halloween basket assembly for Jeremy’s Thoughtful Thermals at LDS Church, 410 North Valle Verde Drive
- Paint and refresh interiors at Boys and Girls Club, 2980 Robindale Road
- Car wash to benefit Boys and Girls Club, 2980 Robindale Road
- Tie fleece blankets for The Embracing Project at Boys and Girls Club, 2980 Robindale Road
- Make cards for seniors for Meals on Wheels at Boys and Girls Club, 2980 Robindale Road
- Donations need for The Embracing Project and The Ashley Strong Foundation, 2980 Robindale Road
- Clean and maintain property at Living Grace Homes (Español), 241 Palo Verde Drive
- Cleanup at Bird Viewing Preserve, 350 East Galleria Drive
- Trail cleanup at Pittman Wash Trail, begin at Arroyo Grande Boulevard
