Okay, so who hasn’t been waiting for shaved ice and a self-serve frozen yogurt bar to come to Boulder City?! Well, they’re coming and with a vengeance! Here’s all the scoop (pun entirely intended):
The Boulder Bean in Red Mountain Plaza changed hands and is still serving the coffee you love, but notice the building’s new paint job and the banner sign rolling out its name change to Chilly Jilly’z.
Chilly Jilly’z is owned by Jill, who has been in business for the past four years in California (doing festivals and mobile parties). She and her husband moved to Boulder City in September and she’s opening her first brick and mortar shop in the Boulder Bean location.
She’ll still serve coffee, but will be adding shaved ice and Dole soft serve to the menu in January…hopefully in time for their Grand Opening in the middle of the month.
For those of you who think you know what I’m talking about, yes – it’s the same Dole soft-serve that you get at the Dole plantation in Hawaii and what they serve at Disney World (it’s fat free, has no cholesterol, is lactose free, low in sugar and is gluten free…yet unbelievably good).
And believe it or not…there’s more. Chilly Jillyz will be expanding into a full-service location across the street in Marshall Plaza and will soon begin construction on the building recently vacated by BC Canvas (right next to Ladybug Nursery). That’s where they’re putting in the self-serve frozen yogurt bar, more Dole soft serve, more shaved ice and so on!
