Boulder City Social is a hobby…I actually have a real job! Well, I work for myself…so I’m not sure how “real” that is…but none the less – I am a freelance web designer working out of my home under the name of Signature Digital Design.
Why am I telling you this? Because when I moved to Boulder City a few years back and started Signature, what I had to go through to set my business up was mind-bogglingly confusing and difficult – I have to be honest. Trying to figure out what I needed to as far as licenses for the state, licenses for the city, fictitious business names, business banking accounts, resale certificates…OYE!
NOW, however – the Boulder City Economic Vitality Commission has put together a whole “Starting a Business” informational package that you can get from Jill Rowland-Lagan at the Chamber of Commerce.
The Commission is a collaborative effort between the City of Boulder City and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce and they have a vision of simplifying the process and creating a “user-friendly” approach to starting your own business in Boulder City.
The packet includes loads of information on where to go, what to do and who to see to get all the necessary things done…so swing by the Chamber and ask for a copy if you are about to or in the middle of hanging out your own shingle!
