You may have driven by this whimsical store at 1028 Wyoming Street (at the corner of California Street). Maybe you’ve even stopped in to check out the wonderful displays inside. But we recently went behind the scenes with the energetic owner, Delinda Patalano, and her creative team.

We should call it her creative family because that’s truly what it is. Delinda’s business partner is her son, Jace Patalano and his girlfriend, Kelley Estin, the firm’s head designer. Erin Archibald, boutique manager, is in charge of the store and her boyfriend, Jared Shanahan, is the marketing manager. He’s also a friend of Jace’s. Did you get all that??? Well, no matter because how the dots connect and bring Delinda’s dreams to fruition is the real story here!

When asked why she decided to open a boutique in Boulder City while the business world was being rocked by the effects of the pandemic, her answer was simple: “I’m a risk taker,” she said. But the risk is definitely worth the reward as you hear about her plans for the store now and in the future.

Delinda had the idea for a boutique for several years, before deciding to open a store in Boulder City. She is a veteran of the vintage trade markets and shows and still does pop up boutiques in places like Summerlin. Still, she wanted to have a traditional brick-and-mortar store and cross that challenge off her bucket list. She managed to pull off the property purchase, permitting, remodeling and other challenges within a year, while still maintaining her busy schedule traveling across the country for items for resale.

At the time of our visit, the store had held its first class – a pumpkin decorating class – just the day before. A touch of glitter was still sparkling on the table we gathered around in the classroom, attesting to the magic that had taken place just a few hours earlier. You can check out some of those pictures on the store’s Instagram site HERE.

The staff is well-versed in a variety of arts and hopes to host additional classes in the future. Some of these may include wreath-making (oh, Erin is also a floral designer!), charcuterie creating, furniture refinishing and other customer interests. They maintain a mailing list for customers so that you won’t miss out on any of the new events happening at the store.

They source many of their goods from local vendors, which fits right in with the homey feel of the store (it did used to be a home, after all!). They are also the only distributor of Dixie Belle chalk paint in Boulder City. The rooms are arranged around themes, which is a beautiful way to take in all of the wonderful goodies waiting to be discovered. There are also rooms specifically dedicated to larger pieces of furniture and a room for clothing and shoes. Lest you think this store is only for more feminine tastes, they also have lots of Harley stuff, camping- and hunting-themed items, garden décor and more. They even have clothes and items for your fur family (yes, the store is dog-friendly!). Almost anyone can find something of interest here.

“Most of what we use is recycled from somewhere,” Delinda noted during our visit. In the classroom, that meant hanging bed springs from the ceiling to hold floral displays. “We adhere to the values of repurpose, reuse, redesign and recycle,” she continued. That includes finding discarded treasures out in the desert! These items are then transported to the company warehouse – also located in Boulder City – where they decide how to transform them into products for sale.

The store is in the midst of selling all things Halloween so you’ll want to run by soon to check out the inventory. There is a Christmas room with gorgeous ornaments, festive outdoor displays, sweet snowmen and more! Everything is reasonably priced so no need to wait for sales. You’re sure to find something wonderful here as a gift for a special someone, and pick something up for yourself as well!

The store is open daily from 11:00AM to 4:00PM. They are on Facebook HERE and Instagram HERE. The store’s phone number is (702) 405-0361. They also maintain a website HERE.
