You’ve just gotta give a big hug and a round of applause for the people behind the magic – Dale Ryan and Dyanah Musgrave – for all the work that goes into the annual Christmas House (1525 Fifth Street)!
This year, they turn on the lights on Friday, December 6th, at 5:15pm. The Boulder City Mounted Police Unit will be on hand, all decked out for the night for crowd control, and of course photo ops too. The streets in the area will likely close off around 4:30.
Then around 5:15pm Santa and Mrs. Clause along with Jingle Cat (of course!) will do the countdown and then the lights will come on for the season!
Afterwards, just walk a few blocks back up to Nevada Way to Frank Crow Park and attend the Annual Boulder City Tree Lighting at 6pm….which we’re told there will also be a new surprise at that event as well!
Dale puts in months of work, starting in September each year, doing maintenance and repairs and then placing each and every item on his display with thought and care. He tells us this was a rough preparations year hampered by the extended heat and a few untimely windstorms. But all considered they have made good time and all is expected to be a festive as ever!
Music and entertainment will kick off and Dale tells us they will have a few special events this year, including some special opportunities offered by Ruben’s Toys and gifts!
Remember – when it comes to viewing the lights at our famous Christmas House, to always be respectful of their home and neighbors, as there are often crowds all season long. Also remember that the house is lit and open for visitors from 5pm – 9pm, but if it’s rainy or on a night with heavy winds, the house will not be lighted as it is not safe. Enjoy everyone – we’ll see you all there!
