The Boulder City Police Department’s Mounted Unit has a new group of volunteer horsewomen and men to assist them with public safety, the Boulder City Mounted Posse.
Sitting high above the ground and equipped with radios, the posse act as the eyes and ears for first responders. Working under the advisement of Police Officer Scott Pastore, they patrol during special events, in local parks and downtown, and are also being trained for search and rescue.
You don’t need a horse to volunteer. They’re looking for marketing, fundraising, and administrative help and are actively seeking corporate sponsors. For more information visit their Facebook page or contact Sarina Rohrig at 702-521-8310.
