Wow – so here is a tale of survival we hope we don’t hear about often. Just less than a month ago (on June 28th, 2014), a small plane crashed in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and sadly, neither of the two passengers survived.
A little known fact is that they had their kittens with them and they DID survive. They were brought to the Boulder City Animal Shelter and have been being cared for until arrangements could be made for their futures. And it’s that they are now officially up for adoption.
They’re the two (male) kittens in the bottom photo and 11 weeks old, give or take. The little stinker in the top photo was not on the plane…he was just so wild and crazy that I have to include him also in today’s adoptable pet post!
The Animal Shelter is open Saturday and starting again on Monday — so they’re there and waiting for a forever home!
UPDATE: The bottom two kittens were adopted on Tuesday, July 22nd and the top little rag-muffin went home with his new owners on Wednesday, July 23rd!
