…’Round An Old Oak Tree…
American Legion Post 31 has posted their 100th Yellow Ribbon Sign on Veteran’s Memorial Drive to honor and hope for the safe return of Boulder City’s deployed servicemen.
Another batch of signs will be added to the current ones…and I propose that we collectively hope for the fantabulous day when they can all come down, don’t you think?
If you have a family member who has been deployed or is being redeployed – the American Legion wants to know so they can post a Yellow Ribbon Sign for you — their number is (702) 293-6374.
On a related note…have you seen any of these flags in residences around Boulder City and wondered what they were?
They are Blue Star Service Flags and the official banner authorized by the Dept. of Defense for display by families who have members servicing in the Armed forces during any period of war or hostilities.
You can read more about them by clicking here and the American Legion is also the one to contact if you have a family member actively serving and they’ll take care of getting you a Service Flag.
