Hey, all you moped enthusiasts … don’t forget that all mopeds in Nevada must now obtain a moped license plate, at which time owners will need to pay a one-time registration fee under Senate Bill 404 (SB 404), which was passed in last year’s Nevada Legislature.
The DMV began moped registration November 1 (2016) and remember that law enforcement may begin issuing citations to unregistered mopeds on January 1st, 2017.
Other laws on mopeds have not changed, i.e. – mopeds remain exempt from insurance and helmet laws, but a driver’s license of any class is required to ride on public streets.
