Trunk Or Treat This Saturday

Trunk Or Treat Boulder City, Nevada

This Saturday is the annual Trunk or Treat event hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, out at Veterans Memorial Park starting at 3:30pm. Parking begins at 3:30, and it’s a flat rate of $10/car. So pack ’em in folks (as far as you can legally, mind you…) and enjoy the day! If you have an elaborate set up, you can show up early and start decorating, they’ll come around at 3:30 and collect your fee.

Activities on the field begin at 4pm and the Trunk or Treat Horn is blown at 5pm to begin ‘Treating’. Businesses have been encouraged to participate this year by the Chamber offering a free space to them on the grass to advertise and market their business. They simply have to have a game for the Trick or Treaters to play that evening.

The Trunk or Treat decorating contest will include CASH prizes (provided by Dr. Huxford of Boulder Dental Group) and will be awarded from the stage at 7pm.

The Cooky Costume Contest has four categories this year:

  • Family Fun (family groups/couples of all genres)
  • Infant Adorbs  (Children from Zero to 10 years old of all genres)
  • Young Stars  (Children from 11 to 17 years old of all genres)
  • Adult Boo Bash   (all individual adults over 18 years old of all genres)

The Haunted Hayride through the Freaky Forest will take on new life (or death – depending on how you look at it). However, organizers say they are not going to share much more, but bring your screams and sense of adventure!

The highly requested Monster Museum Haunted House will make its return, and remember there are no additional fees for any of the activities once you are inside the park and have a wristband on.

Food trucks are on hand too, so you’ll be able to munch down on your favorite foods – beyond candy of course! When we spoke to Jill Lagan, President and CEO of the Chamber, she said, “I would really like to stress this year that we need lots of willing residents to come out and pass out candy at their trunks for the children.  We’d love to have tons of candy and tons of kids to make happy in this safe environment.”

So, come on out for what always promises to be a great community event that combines all the efforts of both our businesses and families in Boulder City. Boo!
