I wish I could be there when Cokie pulls this post up on her Facebook page, don’t you?
Who thinks they’re going to see their face looking back at them when they log on for the day?!
Everyone’s favorite do-gooder, Cokie Booth, was awarded the Friends of Boulder City Police Department’s Unsung Hero Award for this quarter and well, this is a laundry list of community service that really should be shared!
Here is the write-up on Cokie from the FOBCPD’s website (reachable by CLICKING HERE):
“Yes, how can I help”, are words many of us have heard spoken by Cokie Booth, our newest Unsung Hero! When poling others, we were unable to find anyone that Cokie has said “no” to.
A champion for local children, Cokie was instrumental in getting the Boulder City Boys and Girls Club and when they pulled out of town Cokie went on another mission – who can we give money to that can help those children in Boulder City that need before and after school care?
In addition to her work with the Boys and Girls Club and more recently the Dan Leach Memorial Fund, Cokie has contributed her time and financial support throughout the years to other organizations such as See Spot Run, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, Miss Boulder City Scholarship Fund, Boulder City Community Club, the Pan Draggers and the Rotary Club of Boulder City. Cokie has also served as a member of the Boulder City Planning Commission and serves on the State of Nevada Board of Cosmetology.
Cokie is truly an angel amongst us as she works tirelessly on behalf of Boulder City while making it a safer place for our children to live.
