Here are some events coming up in the next few weeks at the Boulder City Library…
On January 13th, the library’s Winter Reading Program for Adults & Teens kicks off and continues through March 10th. People can participate by reading or listening to books and attending events. There are weekly prize drawings and two grand prizes this year: Kindle Fires. More info can be found on the library’s Winter Reading Program web page by CLICKING HERE.
On January 13th @ 1 PM Author Joy Johnson will be at the library to give a talk. Joy is a nationally-known speaker and has written or edited more than 100 books on grief, mostly for children. The characters in Joy’s novels are affectionately called the BOOB Girls (Burned Out Old Broads at Table 12). Joy believes that older, seasoned women are beautiful too! The BOOB Girls series chronicles the adventures, mysteries and comedies of four widows from the Meadow Lakes Retirement Community. Her books are available for checkout at the library.
January 17th @ 6:30 PM is a local author panel. The Senior Center put together this particular panel and the library will be having more local author panels throughout the year. If anyone is interested, they can contact the library (ask for Samantha or Anne) to be added to their list.
January 24th @ 1:30 PM will be a health fair put on by CARE NV and the library. It runs until 4 PM and there will be many agencies there to help answer questions about health care including CARE NV, Dignity Health, Emergency Aid BC, Lend A Hand, Homestead, Boulder City Homebound Services, and many more.
Also, remember that on Mondays morning and Tuesday afternoons and evenings, the library offers a Tech Teacher. They are 45 minute one-on-one appointments to get help with technology questions. Call or stop by the Information Desk for more information and availability. Sorry, they don’t do computer repairs! 🙁
