Wondering what’s up with the restaurant and adjoining retail spaces that used to house Mel’s Diner, Reynold’s Doll Shop and the other little souvenir shop that was once there?
We don’t know a lot, but what we DO know is that the For Sale signs have come down, as the purchase of the building did go through and the new owners are none other than the folks who are putting the (soon-to-open) Scratch House Restaurant into the former Big Horn Restaurant space.
In speaking with them, they say they’ve got something special planned for the place, although rest assured, the building will be treated with the absolute respect deserved for its history as they bring the much-needed renovation of all three spaces. And that it will be designed specifically for the benefit of the people of Boulder City…so we’ll keep an eye open!
On a related note – it looks as if things are moving at top speed over at Scratch House…we just saw boxes being unpacked this morning on our weekly jaunt through town – so we hope to be reporting that its opened very soon!
