On Wednesday afternoon this week we attended a presentation at the Nevada State Railroad Museum that featured an update from the LGA Architecture and how the plans at the museum have continued to evolve. Let’s just say, it was impressive!
Several meetings have been held with this group over the past several years and they have solicited feedback from many different people and stakeholders in the community. The results of that input is now what you see above. Included now in the proposed expansion will be a visitor center, along with a museum store as well as museum exhibits to share the history of our railway and it’s role in building Hoover Dam. The center will also contain offices and space for the hundred or so volunteers who staff the railroad museum that allow all of us to enjoy riding the trains and visiting all that the museum has to show us.
The project is continuing and is on track to begin work in 2024 and open later in 2026. It’s a wonderful opportunity for Boulder City and we’re so excited to see how its coming together!
