Aside from reviewing the list of accomplishments and various other newsworthy items, Mayor Rod Woodbury rolled out his Vision Statement for his term as Boulder City’s latest elected leader.
The entire State of the City address is available on the City’s YouTube Channel here and the video below is the 18 minute clip of Mayor Woodbury’s Vision Statement, which I think is well worth a watch.
#2 (Be Business Friendly) is particularly informative as he discusses the need for a major cultural change in relations with Boulder City businesses (both new and existing) and an end to the “butcher mentality” of the past.
#4 (Crystal Clear Communication) is my favorite section as I’m naturally an enormous supporter of the below statement … it’s one of my founding philosophies of Boulder City Social.
“The good people of Boulder City want better information about what’s happening in their local government and they deserve to know it … all of us need to elevate our dialogue to a higher level. Incivility, name-calling, smear campaigns, pot-shots, put-downs, innuendo, and disparaging remarks are never acceptable. In fact, they’re counter-productive and only serve to veil the truth and impede progress.”
